Last Post of 2008!!

Hi,
I thought I would try to have one more post prior to the end of 2008!
Hope this finds everyone doing well. We had a great Christmas but very Hectic!! I will post pictures soon. Dad (Grandpa) and Kelly came into town and Kyle also came in from PIT.
I am leaving today with Beckham to fly to PIT to visit daddy for New Years. This will be our first new years eve together in a long time (since Kyle will not be working late a the liquor store).

December was really crazy and went by really fast (here are a few tid bits)

Beckham got sick and we started breathing treatments :(
I continued to work and be a single mom!
Kyle came home almost every weekend...
Todd Made another *(^%&^* offer on the house... and we rejected again
I tried to do Christmas shopping and decorated the house some...
Family, Family and More Family during Christmas week
Madison is doing well but always itching
I continue to try to keep the house clean for house showings (which we have had several lately!)

Anyway... I am glad 2008 is almost over and can't wait until 2009 it will bring lots of new changes to come!

Contract...No contract!

Hi,
On Monday we got a contract on the house on Wed we told the potential buyer "Todd" thank you but no thank you! He offered us 50g's less than what we put it on the market for and then we countered and then he still was about 40g's less than what we put it on the market for plus he wanted a lot of picky things so we said no (hope this doesn't come back to bite us in the butt) The house has only been on the market for one month and Kyle still has at least 5 more months of temporary housing and I don't have a job in PA so we will just keep on... I know things will be slow for the next few months but that is fine with me because I don't exactly love keeping the house spotless for showings :)
Anyway that is really all exciting with us.

Oh yea, we went Monday to get Beckham's hear murmur checked out and our pediatrician, Kip, thinks everything is OK!

Busy Busy Busy!!

Wow, where did November go? If anyone knows please tell me!

Last week we had Beckham's surgery for new ear tubes and his adenoids removed. He was a pretty sad little guy on Wed, better Thursday with Naina, and Friday gave his daddy a run for his money!!

He is doing well now, except they brought up to me that he has a heart murmur so now we have to go back to the doctor to get that checked out :(

Kyle is doing well. He came in to help me this weekend which was nice because Beckham was a little fussy and we had another open house. Not much action at the open house so we will see. Supposedly there are still several people really interested (I will believe it when I see it!!)

Kyle is enjoying his job much better. He loves going to the well sites but is not too much of a fan of the "office life". It did snow when we went to visit him last weekend but it melted very fast (very pretty snow)! It is now snowing and cold up there.

Anyway, not sure where the time goes (work has been really busy too)... this week we get to cram 5 days of appointments in 3 :)

Obama Wins and not sure about PA?

Well,
Kyle called last night not to excited about the decision to move to PA... sounds as if the job is not quite what he expected. I told him to hang in there I think he is just home sick! But Beckham and I will be up there soon enough for a visit. As far as the house goes... we are still having lookers but no contract yet... one guy is still very interested but he is checking numbers to see if it is in his budget and another family are deciding on our house and one other (I'm sure they will pick the other house). But in the mean time we are still planning another open house for this weekend. I waxed the floors the other night and they look great so maybe that will help the house sell... that is if Kyle still wants to stay in PA!! Anyway going to watch the office. Good night. Love K

Election day 2008!

It's a big day her in the USA... McCain vs. Obama. We will find out tonight who will be our next Pres. I still have not voted but the plan is to do that sometime today!
So, it has been a long week and weekend. It was Kyle's last week in Memphis. He left on Sunday which was sad to see daddy go but exciting for us to find out more of where our adventure will take us!! Even Kyle's dad cried when he dropped him off at the airport so you know it was a sad day. Beckham does not get that daddy has left but every night so far we have called him to say "night night".
Halloween was fun. Kyle and I went to Beckham's school for the "Fall festival" where he played with his friends and was Frankenstein. Then came home and we carved a pumpkin and then went trick or treating down the street in his Dragon costume. He looked so cute toddling down the street in that costume. He started a new classroom on Monday which I think has been harder on me than on him. On Monday morning brought his milk the way I always do and the teacher told me there was no fridge so I started to cry (not sure it was over the fridge or just stress). Anyway all that is worked out now!
The HOUSE... well it seems to be positive then we hear nothing. We have had 3 people come back twice but still nothing. We have another showing at 7 pm on Wed so there is still some hope! Now that everyone knows that this is happening it just makes me want it to happen sooner and go on and start our life up in PA!! Hopefully it will sell soon! I will keep you posted.

Oh yea!! One update, the open house went great this weekend!! And we have two appointments this week of people who came during the open house. Anyway I might be moving sooner than expected!!

It's official! The Alexanders are moving to PA!

Hi everyone,
We got the news, Kyle is moving up to PA on November 2nd with a ONE WAY ticket to PIT. It's going to be really COLD. But, I guess that's what clothes are for! I still have not told my work so AMY please don't say anything yet!! Things have been really busy this week trying to figure out all our plans and everything! We put the house on the market on Tuesday and we have our first open house on Sunday! So hopefully it will sell fast! Ha Ha
Beckham is doing well, he hid from me this morning when I wanted to change his poopy diaper. I found him in our bedroom underneath his round saucer toy. It was really funny! He is moving up to the next classroom. I hope he does well with the move because that will be several big changes for him with daddy being gone and a new room at school.

Hurricanes, Babies, and PA!!! Oh MY...

Hey
For my avid blog readers I really do apologize that I have not updated in so long!!! Things have been quite busy with the Alexander family. Let's start with Hurricane Gustova Came though Memphis bringing my dad, cindy, suzanne, jeff, callie, john, alli, cada, 3 extra dogs, 1 cat, + the group that stayed down the street. It was fun to see everyone, a little exhausting but FUN. Suzanne announced she was pregnant again!! And the same weekend we found out Little Paul and Ana are expecting as well. And Dad and Cindy got engaged...WOW
2nd Hurricane IKE... we have the trip all planned to go to Mexico, we are all packed, and spray tanned and all when Huston gets ROCKED by IKE and we can't fly into Huston to go to Cozumel... so, we got on orbitz and booked a trip to Cancun.... and dad and cindy went with us. We got do some diving and beckham got to play in the sand... I will post some pictures!!!
While we where in Cancun LP tracked us down and said that PA was interested in offering Kyle a position "Water Management Supervisor".... more on that later
So we had a great trip...

Then the next week I left my boys to go to Charleston for a work conference (it was really great conference on dietitans putting down feeding tubes) Anyway Beckham gave "Dadee" a run for his money! He got sick and had fever and poo poos! Poor baby... so mom rushed home to help :)

So the past few weeks we have been dealing with some sickness but he is much improved today! Poo Poos, ear infection, snotty nose, etc. He is talking and running... and repeating words like crazy!

So for any of you that read this your ears may have perked up when I wrote about PA... well I know we have been talking about it for a long time but I think the time has come and the Alexander Kids are heading NORTH! (for those that do read and know about my job at St. Jude please do not say anything to anyone yet... there are a lot of details that still need to be worked out--- House being SOLD, and I don't want to get all the crazy RD's worked up around here). Kyle signed the JOB offer on Monday and took a drug test. It sounds as if he will be moving up there at the end of the month. Next week we are having the Realtor (kyle's aunt Jakie) put the house on the market !!! ??? *(&^*%&
Beckham and I will stay here and sell the house, they are going to pay for Kyle to come home to visit on the weekends, pay for me to go up twice for house hunting trips, and for at least 6 months of temporary housing in PA. It looks like we will live somewhere in Central PA near Penn State... or close to where I find a job. So I will let you all know more when I do!

Another very exciting news is I am going to be a AUNT!!! And Beckham will have a cousin! Kelly and Matt are expecting and due in June! Yea for them... we are going to name the baby IKE!

Not too much exciting is going on with us but I thought I would post a few new pictures for you avid blog readers. Beckham is doing well. He can count to 3 in spanish!! The weather has been quite mild for August so we have not gotten much pool time this summer. The "nakedbaby" pictures are from this weekend where I had Beckham laughing as I was tickeling him!
Kyle is doing well. The store is still supposed to sell but we all know how that goes. Work has beem very busy for me, we have been down two RDs this week and I am training Ginny (she started monday)! Anyway... hope everyone is well. Love you Katy

Finally a new post!

Hi All,
It has been a long time since my last post so I do apologize to my 2 blog readers! Anyway, I have no clue were the past two months have gone but I do know that my little boy is growing up fast! He is running now and loves to swim. We can't keep him out of the pool. He has lots to say but we are not always sure what he is saying. Favorite words are "bye bird", dog, more, milk, daddy, mama, thank you (or something like that), duck, and he loves to make the sounds of the duck, monkey, dog, and cow (the dog is really cute he sticks his tongue out and pants). He even responds to the animal sounds when asked them in Spanish! He still has been sick off and on. No ear infections except once since the tubes but he did have bronchitis a few weeks ago and had to have breathing treatments :(.

June-- well we got this crazy idea that we might be moving to Pennsylvania so Kyle and I took a weekend and went up there for a visit. PA was nice (but it was also June) but does not look like the contract is going to work out as planned. So for now we are still in Memphis, TN ...
Also in June, one of my fellow dietitians and friend, Amy, announced she was leaving and moving to Nashville so we had to say bye to a great RD (and good friend). But, we did hire another good friend and great RD, Ginny! So, work has been a little crazy and my job is going to change some but it should be a good challenge!

July- 4th of July came and went... Beckham stayed at Paw Paw and GiGi's that night and the group went downtown to Jerry's to see fireworks it was fun but not quite the same as years past. It was kind of chilly and rainy so no pool time was had. Went to New Orleans in July and visited with Dad, Cindy, Segura's, and Kelly. It was fun but a long drive home :)! We found out on the drive down to New Orleans that the Lafferty family was going to have a Boy so congrats to them! Kelly came in town the next weekend. We celebrated moms birthday (July 26th) with a good lunch at pearl oyster house that Beckham slept in his stroller all the way through. Then hung out the rest of the weekend. Ruth (my old boss) last day was Friday so we are now without a full time boss. So, if anyone knows any good RD's out there to be the director of Clinical Nutrition at St. Jude please let me know. This weekend we went to Paw Paw and GiGi's to celebrate Paw Paw's 74th birthday!! We had BBQ and cake and I think Paw Paw was tired out when we left... oh yea Beckham found the one spot of dog poo in the yard and decided to fall in it!! :) Needless to say he got the hose.
As far as the liquor store is concerned we think it is sold! Well it is sold as long as the people pass though city and state. So, if any of you readers have a job lead for Kyle please let us know!

Ok I have go on long enough... to sum it up we are doing well... Beckham is a cutie! Oh yea and Madison is still a good dog (Beckham likes to pat her and says "good dog"!)

First hair cut!!

Well we finally did it! Beckham got his first hair cut. We went Friday May 30th to fun cuts in Cordova. Pa Pa and Gi Gi went too and we took video and pictures. Beckham was not too sure about it but he looks really cute now! Not that he didn't before but now he does not have a baby mullet! We had Crawfish party 2008 on Sat. and is was a good time per usual! We had 5 babies over with Beckahm being the oldest at 14 months (Beckham, Presley, Mackinzey, Claire and James). It was pretty hectic at first! Grandpa is in town visiting and Beckham loves to follow him around the house... it likes to copy whatever Grandpa does! We got in the pool for a few min yesterday but the weather got really windy so we had to get out and Beckham was not pleased. Work is going ok for me.. my boss' husband passed away last week so it has been sad around the office. The liquor store flooded today... not sure why or how much damage so we will see. Kyle and I are still playing in the St Jude golf league on Tuesdays. That has been fun to play again and I even beat Kyle once 38/43!! Go me! Today was the first day since the new classroom (toddler I) that I dropped Beckham off at school and he did not cry!! It made me very happy. Later! Love, Katy

Beckham is 14 months today

Hey so 4 months has past since my last update!!
Happy Birthday to Madison and to Henry Allen! Beckham is 14 months old today. Well a quick recap of what has been going on lately. April came and went... can't think of much except Beckham moved from Ms Judah's classroom to the Toddler I room at the 1st of May. So far he is still adjusting to this new room, he cries everyday when I drop him off in his new room. It is very sad. Oh yea, Beckham got tubes in his ears on April 10th. he was supposed to have his adenoids removed but was very congested that day so they just did tubes. He seems to be adjusting to them well but has had an ear infection already so I really think he is going to have to have the adenoids out too.

Beckham is walking well (started March 30th and has not slowed down since) and he is now getting an independent streak and does not like to be told "no". If you tell him "no" he balls up his fist and starts shaking and gets really red in the face. I hope this is not early "terrible two's". We are planning on going to get his first haircut today so I hope all goes well. He is starting to have a baby mullet!!

Kyle and I celebrated out 5th anniversary on Sat the 10th. We went to a nice dinner then hung out at the house. Beckham stayed with pa pa and GiGi and had a great time with them!

Beckham, Kelly and I just got back yesterday from a trip to the Bahamas. We stayed at the Atlantis which is like Disney land on a beach. It was a great trip but luckily Kelly won it though work for being a good sales girl and we didn't have to pay for much. Beckham loved the beach and the pool!! I will post some pictures soon.

Beckhams first year has come and gone... really FAST!

Greetings all,
Beckham had a great first birthday! We had a pirate themed party at the house with family and close friends. Beckham seemed to have a great time. He got to play with his little friends Mackinsey and Ella Catherine. He and Ella Catherine even got a little smooching in! What can I say my son is a lady's Man! He seemed to enjoy his pirate cake and the black icing that got everywhere. Check out the pictures from the party. Thanks to everyone who was able to make it and for all the wonderful birthday gifts!
Yesterday I had to leave work early because I had a very red eye. When I went to the doctor I was informed it was pink eye! Yuck, so far Beck and Kyle are ok without any symptoms... I have 6 pumps of hand sanitizer around the house and I am using it like mad so they wont get it.
Today was Beckham's 1 year doctors appointment. And sad to say but he is going to have to get tubes placed in his ears. He still had an ear infection which has be going on for the past few weeks. So next week I am taking him to an ENT doc to get the surgery set up. He did not get his shots today because he is taking another antibiotic and the Dr Frizzell did not want to give his shots today so we will get them at 15 months. He weighed 21# (25-50%tile) and his height is 28 in (5-10%tile). Yep I have a short kid... it is what I should have expected from someone who is kinda 5'2".
Anyway enough about all that. Kelly came into town before Beckham's party and we had a really good visit- just too short and Dad came into town on Monday and left today. We have had some nice days the past few days but I think it is supposed to get colder and rainy for Easter Sunday, which is this weekend. It has really snuck up on me this year with it being so early and all.

Happy March Birthdays!

It's March and that is what we refer to as Birthday MONTH! Tomorrow is Kyles birthday (30th), mine is the 18th, and Beckham's is the 19th. And many friends and family also have B'days this month... Matt, Ginny, Ella Catherine (she's one), Kella Sue, Naina, and Suzanne... I am sure there are more I just can't think of them right now! We are having a pirate party for Beckham on the 16th! Wear your pirate pants!
Anyway, Beckham Passed swim class with flying colors... WAY to GO BECKHAM!

Yesterday Beck and I went to get pictures made with the ducks! It was alot of fun for us but I am not too sure what the ducks thought about it. Poor little ducklings!

March the Birthday Month!!

Greetings can you believe it has almost been a year? Well tomorrow, Friday, we will celebrate Kyle's 30th birthday, My birthday the 18th and Beckham's the 19th. Not to mention all the friends and family that have birthday's in march... Matt, Ginny, Ella Catherine (she's one!), Kella, Naina, Suzanne, and I am sure more I just can't remember them all right now and I don't have my calendar handy!

We are going to have a pirate party for Beckham on March 16th!

By the way he graduated from swim class with flying colors!! Way to go Beckham!

Anyway, I posted some pictures of Beckham's first professional photo experience... modeling world here we come :)! He was a little afraid of the ducks but it was a lot of fun they were really cute! Happy March... don't forget the time change this weekend. Spring forward- love Katy

Happy Mardi Gras!!! and Tornados!!

Well last year at this time I was in the Hospital! Wow how fast a year went. Beckham has started swim classes all the way out in Collerville (about 45min away). But, lucky for me work has been very kind and they let me leave every day early to take him to class. It is really an infant water survival class... check it out... www.infantswim.com. Anyway it is 5 days a week for 4-6 weeks depending on how he does. So, last night was MG and also some major storms that hit Memphis. Yes we took cover... at one point we thought one might hit us... Me, Beckham, & Madison sat on the bathroom floor with pillows while Kyle stood in the doorway watching his weather man Dave Brown. Beckham and Madison were very entertained because we all were getting Cherieos for doing high-5's!! They loved it!
Anyway today we had to go to the doctor because Beckham had a rash (hand and foot disease?) and ear infection :( But the kid seems to be feeling great... then tonight I installed the baby gate at the top of the stairs with only a few bad words while daddy and baby watched the basketball games. Still don't know were all the days are going? Let me know if you have the answer to that! Hope everyone is doing well. Love KT

Happy 2008!

What a year 2007! To recap the big events of 2007... went into the hospital January 22, 2007; Had a Baby March 19th 2007; Kyle sold liquor store and jobless April 2007; Katy went back to work July 2007; Kyle opened new liquor store October 2007; then it was Thanksgiving and Christmas... and with that the year was over!

Christmas came and went... Beckham was really sick over Christmas with fevers, cough, cold, poos, etc. He had to go to the doctor twice because he was so pitiful. He got a lot of great gifts...he will be playing with his toys from his first Christmas until he is 18! Kelly and Matt came into town and we had fun hanging out with them. Now it is getting back to our routine! Beckham is back in school and he has slept though the night the past two nights! Yea for me I get to sleep too!!!
Looking forward to warmer weather... Kyle and I will definitely not be moving to anywhere that is cold anytime soon :)
